GREENGUARD Certification is a product certification program for low-emitting interior building materials, furnishings, and finish systems. GREENGUARD certified products must meet stringent, third-party standards for low chemical emissions based on established health standards and must undergo rigorous testing and verification processes on a regular basis. This certification is broadly recognized and accepted by a number of"green" building programs, including the U.S. Green Building Council® (USGBC) LEED® program, the preeminent program for the design, construction, maintenance and operations of high-performance green buildings, CHPS, GSA, NAHB and many more.
GREENGUARD Gold certification offers even stricter certification criteria, considers safety factors to account for sensitive individuals (such as children and the elderly), and ensures that a product is acceptable for use in environments such as school and healthcare facilities.
"GREENGUARD certification gives our customers third-party validation that our products continue to be on the cutting edge of green technology and meet the strictest guidelines for indoor air quality", said Helen Clavey, Claridge's President, and CEO. "Claridge is committed to being the best in our industry and this investment is yet another step in that direction."
