SCS Certification helps fulfill the goal of creating and maintaining healthy, high-performing buildings, schools and residences. This ensures that our products and materials meet strict indoor air quality emission limits for volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Nearly every single product we make is SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certified for indoor air quality. This means the products emit no VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds). Products are tested every three years for compliance. 320 different VOCs are tested, the certification is compliant with the California Dept of Health (the strictest in the nation), and part of that testing is that the products have to test at 7.3 parts per billion or less of formaldehyde and we pass.

LCS writing surface is Cradle-to-Cradle Bronze certified and is 99% recyclable.
Cradle-to-Cradle certification evaluates the environmental and social impacts of products, with a focus on designing for circularity and eliminating waste. It assesses products across five core areas: Material Health, Material Reutilization, Renewable Energy & Carbon Management, Water Stewardship, and Social Fairness. The certification program aims to promote healthy, equitable, and sustainable products by encouraging the use of safe materials, the reuse and recycling of materials, and the responsible management of energy, water, and social factors.
LCS Porcelain complies with organizational conformity with ISO 14001:2015 on carbon emissions, which provides a valuable framework to manage our carbon emissions and contribute to a more sustainable future.
In addition, since the LCS writing surface has a lifetime of the building warranty, there is no need to replace LCS markerboards.
